The tin note is unmistakably dominated by the Latakia, but the Orientals and Virginias in the right proportion also add a lively distinction of their own. I have found many delicious blends that perfectly match my needs, and I enjoy smoking them as much as I did TBS. I know it seems heresy to give this blend three stars. This was true for me into the 80s too, but by the time the 90s came about, the blend had changed and not for the better. Perfection is rare. The nic-hit is just short of the center of mild to medium. I now understand why so many bemoan the exodus of this from the US market. Sobranie, all in all, is a wonderfully rewarding smoke. I received the full can, but it was open and dry. Pipeworks and Wilke has two blends with Yenidje: No. The Sobranie has the properties of the newer Sasieni in full measure; but, if there is a difference: I would describe it as softer, or less sharp! During the Second World War Joe was stationed in England, where he visited Balkan Sobranie and made a deal with them to sell Balkan canned by them in London and labelled as Best, exclusively. About a month ago, my best friend who owns a cigar shop did inventories and found some old stuff under the counter he really couldn't sell anymore. If you like Latakia and lots of it, you will love this stuff, a true Balkan blend. A very good pipe tobacco is that there are few opportunities to buy it. Still nowadays the TBS and the 759 are THE benchmark for all Oriental Mixtures. 5 This is one of the greats.
